1. Who we are
Mount KK Guide (mountkk.my) is an independent informational website providing climbing guides, pricing information, and travel resources for Mount Kinabalu, Sabah, Malaysia. This site is operated by Clarini Online Marketing Sdn Bhd. We are not affiliated with Sabah Parks or any official Mount Kinabalu tour operator.
2. What data we collect
We aim to collect the minimum data necessary to operate and improve this site.

3. Cookies
This site may use cookies set by third-party services (such as Google Analytics) to distinguish returning visitors and measure site usage. You can disable cookies through your browser settings; doing so may not affect core site functionality since this site does not require login or account creation.
4. Third-party services
We use the following third-party services, each with their own privacy practices:
- Google Analytics (GA4) — website usage analytics. See Google's Privacy Policy for details on their data handling.
- Open-Meteo — a free, open-source weather API used to display live conditions. Requests are made directly from your browser; we do not receive or store this data ourselves.
5. Your rights under the PDPA
Under Malaysia's Personal Data Protection Act 2010, as amended by the Personal Data Protection (Amendment) Act 2024, you have the right to:
- Request access to personal data we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate personal data
- Withdraw consent to processing, where consent was the basis for collection
- Request that your data be transferred to another service provider, where technically feasible (data portability)

6. Data retention
Analytics data is retained according to Google Analytics' default retention settings unless configured otherwise. Any contact form submissions are retained only as long as necessary to respond to your enquiry, unless you request earlier deletion.
7. International visitors
This site is hosted and operated from Malaysia. If you are visiting from outside Malaysia (including the EU/EEA), your data may be processed in Malaysia. We aim to handle all personal data in line with the PDPA's data protection principles regardless of where you access the site from.
